President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza administration has received criticism from controversial Mt Kenya musician Ng’ang’a Wa Kabari.
In a song dubbed ‘Zakayo’ that has left tongues wagging, the outspoken musician claims KK government has brought nothing but misery, adding Ruto’s presidency is a punishment from God.
Ng’ang’a hits out at religious leaders accusing them of leading Kenyans astray by urging them to elect Ruto after they pocketed billions from him.
“I realized we are doomed the day Zakayo was sworn in. I knew God had given us into the hands of King Nebuchadnezzar as a punishment,” he sings.
“God we beseech you to save us from this man. We regret we were mislead by preachers into voting for him. Now we are in deep hole and we are crying for help but no one is coming to rescue us. We were told Zakayo would be our saviour but he has turned out to be our tormentor,” Ng’ang’a adds.
The musician opines the churches are no longer places of worship saying they have been defiled by politicians and preachers as they use them to hoodwink the masses.
“We are suffering because the preachers were bribed by Zakayo and they sold us the way Judas sold Jesus. But let me warn them that if they don’t repent they will commit suicide just like Judas,” he says.
Ng’ang’a said God got furious with Kenyans after they described themselves as “hustlers” and failed to honour him for blessing them with fertile land and conducive weather for farming.
During the 2022 campaigns, Ng’ang’a was among few Kikuyu musicians who did not align themselves with any political coalition but chose to sing peace songs.
