A popular Kikuyu gospel artist, Karangu Muraya, is currently mourning the death of a grandmother whom he helped recover from her seized land.
In an emotional Facebook post, the musician stated that the grandmother was knocked down by a motorcycle before fleeing from the scene.
She was in good health and was heading home after visiting a clinic when the incident occurred on Tuesday, September 5.
Reportedly, the deceased, who comes from Kanyenyaini in Kangema in Murang’a county, had her land grabbed from her by unknown people.
However, with the intervention of the gospel artist Karangu Muraya and Kanyenyaini ward MCA Grace, she was able to recover her land.
The incident has since been reported at the police station, and investigations have been initiated.
Following her tragic death, the musician, along with his colleagues, has pledged to give her a befitting send-off just like they helped her recover her land.
