Hundreds of Kenyans had applied for the KRA jobs with the hopes of being selected and working with the taxman.
Those who applied received emails for the first step of interviews, but never got any feedback of what was to happen next. All of a sudden, there were reports that people were invited for training in Eldoret which raised questions on how the process took place.
Taking to her office social media platform, Pauline Njoroge alleged that the recruitment process was marred with corruption as she named some top names involved.
“The KRA recruitment has had some very strange things going on. There has been a senior State House official stationed in Eldoret to oversee the process, and it is said that the First Lady’s sister was also seen there. You wonder why State House had to be actively involved in this.
Also, it was not a matter of who applied, but who has been sent by who. Meanwhile all manner of excuses including medical status have been used to dismiss applicants, in order to create room for the ‘favored’ people. I understand one community has been hugely favored.” she stated.
