On Friday, February 23rd, Kelvin Kiptum Cheruiyot was laid to rest, marking a somber occasion for his family. Originally, Kiptum and his wife, Asenath Rotich, had envisioned moving into their new home together, planning to wed in April. However, fate had different plans, and Kiptum’ s burial became the focus instead. Despite the heartbreak, the government stepped in to support the grieving family by constructing a magnificent house for them, sparking varied reactions among netizens.

The funeral proceedings were accompanied by powerful prayers from pastors, aimed at bringing comfort to Kiptum’ s young widow, children, and parents. A tweet from NTV Kenya highlighted the clergy’ s involvement, showcasing a video on X social media platform, where pastors were seen inside the new house. Their prayers encompassed every corner of the home, starting with the kitchen area, where they prayed over each item meticulously. In the video, one pastor held a knife, invoking blessings upon it before placing it down, symbolizing a consecration of the household tools. Other pastors followed suit, offering prayers of intercession throughout the house.

Meanwhile, Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba led a tour of the newly constructed home, engaging in conversation with a woman as they inspected its features. The construction of the house had been a remarkable feat, completed in just seven days. Inside, one of the bedrooms caught the attention of the pastors, who offered prayers for the space. The room boasted a luxurious and spacious bed, meticulously made to provide comfort and solace.
