Siaya County Governor and ODM politician James Orengo has broken his silence after attending a key meeting at Statehouse Chaired by the head of state President William Ruto.

Orengo was among the Governors who were drawn from both Azimio La Umoja -One Kenya Alliance and Kenya Kwanza who graced the 10th Ordinary Session of the National and County Governments Coordinating Summit.

Speaking after the event, Orengo said that he had very robust deliberations during the 10th Ordinary Session of the National and County Governments Cordinating Summit chaired by President Ruto in State House, Nairobi and on the dispute between the National Assembly and the Council of Governors on the allocation to counties from Roads Maintenance Levy Fund (RMLF).

In the meeting, Orengo proposed that we need to have a bipartisan convening of Parliamentary Party Leaders because we are now seeing a situation where county government functions are being clawed back. The President and Governors have adopted this proposal.

Among the Governors spotted at the event included Kisumu County Governor Professor Peter Anyang Nyongo, Vihiga County Governor Wilbur Ottichilo, Bungoma County Governor Ken Lusaka among others.
