Ongoya explained that his decision to pursue a career in law was not an accident, and that his father attempted to persuade him otherwise.

“That I am a lawyer is no accident of history. My father, never wanted me to be a lawyer. My father took me to the joint admission board (JAB), the predecessor to KUCCPS, to change my plans, and fate intervened. I didn’t change it. I still went back to study law. So the choice of law as a career was mine was deliberate,” Ongoya stated.

The lawyer sent a strong message against shortcuts in the profession, arguing for a methodical approach to career advancement.

“I detest shortcuts, and I hope you know that by now. Those of you who have tried shortcuts in my life know that it is easy to get hatred from me; I dislike hating people, but you can get hatred if you enjoy shortcuts. Just take the staircase up the ladder, very deliberate, very measured and often times stooping low to jump, very high,” he told the law students.

“This is a proof of anything you do ,you must work smart. Nothing comes easy. This guy works smart and he take time to do his work keenly.” Muriuki said.

“If Mt. Kenya punished Uhuru their own son for mistreating William Samoei Ruto who is not their son, just imagine what they will do to Ruto come 2027 for mistreating their own son H.E. Rigathi Gachagua.” David Murathe said.

“Apart from being a lawyer, he’s very handsome.” Luke Walupe said.

“He should be offered land in mount Kenya, and a beautiful lady to keep him warm across the year.” Wilson said.

“I love his resilience, my dream career but no had no one to hold my hands and I lost hope,love the career so much.” Milcah Juma said.

“Bwana Common sense should tell you that a man in kitenge is someone’s husband no matter how young or good they look, no man can wake up and wear that thing willingly.” Boniface said.
