Senator Okiya Omtatah has urged Kenyans not to be entirely distracted by the current focus on the potential impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Speaking in a recent forum, Omtatah emphasized that while the political drama surrounding the Deputy President is significant, it should not divert the nation’s attention from other pressing issues that require immediate action.

Omtatah pointed out that there are urgent economic, social, and governance challenges that must be addressed, including rising inflation, unemployment, and the state of public service delivery. He warned that the impeachment process, which has dominated public discourse, risks sidelining these critical concerns, causing a delay in solutions that directly affect the lives of ordinary citizens.

“We cannot afford to lose sight of the bigger picture,” Omtatah noted, “Our country faces numerous issues that need proactive engagement. While the impeachment debate is ongoing, we must continue focusing on economic recovery and reforms.”

The Senator called on leaders to prioritize national interests over political maneuvering, urging them to maintain a balance between handling the impeachment and addressing the country’s pressing needs. He stressed the importance of ensuring the well-being of Kenyans during this politically charged period.
