Today in the afternoon, reports have emerged that Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement, ODM party have come out to resist the presence of two international bodies in the ongoing dialogue at Bomas of Kenya.
As reported by the Kenyans.co.ke, ODM has announced that they are not going to accept the presence of the IMF and World Bank representatives in the Bomas talks. According to ODM, IMF and World Bank in the past have always spoiled any progressive talks in the republic of Kenya and that is why they will not accept them this time round. Kenya Kwanza had included the two bodies in their economic expertise team to solve the high cost of living.
“In a statement on Monday, the political party argued that the two bodies have in the past offered advice that contributed to the country’s problems. The two institutions were set to offer expert opinions on how to deal with the high cost of living in the country.” Says the report.
