Kenyan youths are actively mobilising for what they call “mega protests” Scheduled for 8th of August 2024. The protest thay follows the weekly demonstrations witnessed in the country since June comes at a time when opposition leader, Raila Odinga has indicated support to dialogue as proposed by President William Ruto.
Raila Odinga who submitted his official bid to vie as the African Union Commission Chairman early next year, has seen four of his men including Opiyo Wandayi, John Mbadi, Wycliffe Oparanya and Ali Hassan Joho named among the Cabinet Secretary nominees presented to parliament for vetting and consideration to serve in Ruto’s Cabinet.
According to blogger Cyprian Nyakundi, the planned protests are giving Raila some hard time claiming that if large numbers turn out, then Raila will be viewed as a conman who hasn’t helped Ruto.
“Raila Odinga must be sweating over the #NaneNane protests. If too many Kenyans show up, he’ll be exposed as the conman who hasn’t helped President Ruto quell the masses!”. Nyakundi said.
