On Wednesday 31st, Interior Security cabinet secretary, Kithure Kindiki, gave a statement to the press on the state of national security. The CS commented on several issues among them the Shakahola massacre, war on bandits, Northlands farm invasion among other things.
Kindiki also outlined his achievements six months after he took over the office.
On the Northlands issue, the cabinet secretary gave the status of investigations. He said that they had gotten information of some suspects linked with the invasion and soon they will be arraigned in court.
Kindiki noted that the matter has taken long before conclusion due to politicization of the invasion. He asked Kenyans to avoid politicizing the matters revolving around national security.
“What happened in Northlands is a serious crime and I want to report we have undertaken investigations and we will be arraigning some suspects very soon. It has taken sometime because of the politicization around it,” noted the cabinet secretary.
The issue of Northlands Farm invasion is yet to leave the minds of Kenyans, two months after it happened. Tree in the farm were cut, livestock stolen and later the premises which belongs to the Kenyatta family was set on fire.
