Jubilee Party secretary general Jeremiah Kioni has stressed that Raila Odinga’s choice to join the Kenya Kwanza government presents the opposition alliance with a chance to fortify itself in front of the 2027 elections.

“Kenyans should expect a more youthful, reorganized, and strong Azimio team to form a government in 2027 or sooner,” Mr. Kioni stated in an interview with Radion 47 on Tuesday night. “The opposition alliance is open to working with the country’s Generation Z residents to make improvements to their motherland,” the leaving Ndaragwa lawmaker continued.

Eventually, Azimio will be younger, more powerful, and prepared to assume the presidency by 2027 or earlier. Our readiness to collaborate with Generation Z is complete.

Eremiah Kioni. Kioni’s remarks were made just hours after Raila Odinga, the leader of the ODM party, announced that she would be selecting close friends for the future administration of President William Ruto. The co-principals of Azimio publicly refused to join the Kenya Kwanza administration in favor of a coalition government, but Odinga decided to move forward in spite of their adamant resistance.

Convincing the government to abandon the Finance Bill and dissolve the Cabinet, according to the leaders, would be tantamount to betraying Generation Z.Both the ODM party and the Azimio alliance were taken aback when President Ruto declared on Wednesday that he intended to name Wandayi, Oparanya, Joho, and John Mbadi to his cabinet.
