Jeremiah Kioni, secretary general of the Jubilee Party, has stated that Raila Odinga’s choice to join the Kenya Kwanza administration provides an opportunity for the opposition alliance to strengthen itself ahead of the 2027 elections.
In an interview with Radion 47 on Tuesday night, Mr. Kioni stated that Kenyans can expect a more youthful, reorganised, and powerful Azimio team to establish a government by 2027 or sooner.
The leaving Ndaragwa member went on to remark that the opposition alliance is willing to engage with the country’s Generation Z citizens to improve their homeland. Azimio will become a more strong, revitalised, and youthful figure in the future, poised to succeed as president by 2027 or earlier.
We’re eager to collaborate with Generation Z.” Kioni Eremiah. Kioni’s statement came barely hours after ODM party leader Raila Odinga said that she will nominate close allies to President William Ruto’s new government. Odinga chose to proceed against the vehement objections of Azimio’s co-principals, who openly refused to join the Kenya Kwanza administration in favour of a coalition government.
The leaders said that persuading the government to withdraw the Finance Bill and dissolve the Cabinet would be the same as betraying Generation Z.
On Wednesday, President Ruto revealed his intention to appoint Wandayi, Oparanya, Joho, and John Mbadi to his cabinet, surprising both the ODM party and the Azimio alliance. This is the connection.
