Rita Waeni’s family was able to positively identify her severed head at Nairobi’s City Mortuary in a heartbreaking turn of events. In an emotional scene, the family has been able to reveal the three features that helped them in identifying the lost and found head of their murdered daughter.
According to Waeni’s family, the three distinctive features of Rita’s hair, forehead, and teeth formation revealed the horrific discovery, shocking and grieving the bereaved family. At the scene, the Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor oversaw the identification procedure and helped the family through this traumatic ordeal. Emotions were running high and the whole family were inconsolable as they assembled at the mortuary.
At JKUAT, Rita was a bright student with goals and aspirations, and her terrible demise shocked her entire neighborhood. Because the circumstances surrounding her death are still unknown, the public and her family are calling for justice and answers regarding this horrible crime.
