Newly appointed cabinet secretary for ICT William Kabogo has expressed deep concern over the growing influence of pornography in Kenya. Speaking during the #CitizenMondayReport with Trevor Ombija, Kabogo highlighted the dangers it poses to families and society.

“If I had a way of stopping pornography in Kenya, I would do it tonight,” he said.

Kabogo painted a troubling picture of how this issue affects young families, especially those living in small spaces in urban areas like Nairobi.

He described a scenario where parents, struggling to afford larger homes, live in two-room houses with their children.

“Imagine you have three children—a boy and two girls—and they are in the other room watching pornography. What do you expect?” Kabogo asked.

Kabogo emphasized that unrestricted access to adult content is contributing to a breakdown in societal values. He warned that Kenya risks becoming “an insane society” if no urgent measures are taken.

The former governor also called on parents and guardians to play a more active role in monitoring what their children are exposed to.
