New twist has been experienced in Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s camp, over his looming impeachment by parliament next week. After his closest allies are now changes tune and start pressuring him to quit the deputy president job, before being impeached by parliament in order to protect his political future.
According to a report by the Star Newspaper headline today, Gachagua allies are now in fear of a possible political exile due to state clampdown after the DP’s impeachment. They are therefore urging him to quit the deputy president position, and seek asylum. Since he risks ruining his political future, in case the impeachment motion against him passes in parliament.
The DP’s confidants do not see any way back for him in future, if he gets impeached by the parliament next week. He should instead consider resigning from the position before the impeachment day, to protect his political future because the impeachment is very devastating for one’s political life.
