Recently, notable Mount Kenyans have been loud in their condemnation of Ndindi Nyoro, the member of parliament for the Kiharu Constituency. They have been unrelenting in their criticism, both in public and privately, alleging that he is being used by other leaders to undermine Mount Kenya’s unity.
Though it is sense that leaders could hold different views, it is troubling how they have chosen to voice those differences. Since harmony is the cornerstone of any society, leaders must foster a welcoming and positive environment. In addition to undermining Ndindi Nyoro’s efforts, these leaders are dividing the community by openly criticizing him.
It is imperative that leaders avoid personal jabs and instead engage in productive dialogue to identify common ground. It’s also crucial to understand that everyone has the freedom to express their thoughts and opinions. These leaders in Mount Kenya are destroying Ndindi Nyoro’s reputation and keeping him from having a positive influence on the community by depicting him as a tool used by other leaders to weaken unity.
Regardless of how different other people’s perspectives are from their own, leaders should respect them and seek to develop solutions that will benefit society as a whole.Leaders of Mount Kenya have assaulted Ndindi Nyoro, endangering not only his reputation but also the community’s togetherness.
