The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has unveiled its latest salary structures, bringing both excitement and anticipation among educators. The current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) outlines the adjustments across various job groups.

Chief Principals (T-Scale 15):

Heading National and Extra County Schools, Chief Principals overseeing sizable student populations will now enjoy a salary increase of up to Sh9,496. With a range from Sh131,380 to Sh157,656, this reflects a significant boost for these educational leaders.

Senior Principals (T-Scale 14):

Leading County Schools, Senior Principals will now receive a monthly allowance ranging from Sh118,242 to Sh121,890, acknowledging their pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape.

Principals (T-Scale 13):

At the Sub-County level, Principals will experience a salary range from Sh104,644 for the lowest earner to Sh104,644 for the highest, recognizing their role in fostering education at the grassroots.

Deputy Principals III:

Administering Sub-County and All Day schools, Deputy Principals III will receive a monthly pay ranging from Sh91,041 to Sh91,041, highlighting their essential contribution to the educational ecosystem.

Senior Head Teachers, Senior Master II, and Deputy Principals IV:

Heading primary schools with significant enrollments, these leaders will receive a Grade D1 (T-Scale 11) salary, acknowledging their pivotal role in shaping young minds.

Head Teachers, Deputy Head Teacher I, and Senior Master III:

Leaders in various capacities, from primary schools to Sub-County and All Day schools, will now receive Grade C5 (T-Scale 10) salaries, recognizing their diverse responsibilities.

Deputy Head Teacher II:

Administering primary schools with smaller enrollments, Deputy Head Teacher II Grade C4 (T-Scale 9) will see salary increments, ranging from Sh45,287 to Sh52,308.

Secondary Teacher I and Senior Teacher I:

Teachers in secondary schools and administrators in primary schools with large enrollments will receive Grade C3 salaries, recognizing their commitment to education.

Senior Teacher II, Secondary Teacher II, and Secondary Teacher II Untrained (UT), and Primary SNE Teachers:

Administrators in various capacities will continue to receive Grade C2 salaries, maintaining the current level of compensation.

Primary Teacher I and Secondary Teacher III:

Teachers in Grade C1 will not see salary increments, yet their dedication remains pivotal in shaping the educational landscape.

Primary Teacher II:

Teachers at Grade B5 will not witness salary adjustments, but their foundational role in primary education persists.The TSC’s 2023 salary adjustments reflect a commitment to recognizing the diverse contributions of educators across job groups, fostering a thriving educational environment for both teachers and students.
