President William Ruto has directed interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki to ensure that Kenyans who are living in areas prone to floods are relocated.
Several sources have confirmed that President William Ruto who was speaking about the ongoing rains in the country has also directed Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu to postpone the planned reopening of schools due to the ongoing rains.
According to the reports given by President William Ruto, this is being done to help avoid cases of deaths that might be caused by heavy rains in the country.
President Ruto: The Ministry of Interior is hereby directed to enforce the relocation notices issued earlier, upon their expiry at 6:30 pm today. We appreciate and thank members of the public who are already cooperating with the government on the evacuation and relocation efforts underway.
In other news, former prime minister of Kenya who is also the Presidential candidate of the Azimio la Umoja Coalition, Honorable Raila Odinga has donated food and money to the residents of Mukuru Kwa Reuben.
