Ahead of the Azimio la Umoja coalition mass action demonstrations in the capital city, Nairobi on Thursday, the regional police boss Adamson Bungei has asked the coalition leadership to send notice for protests to Central Police Station OCS Moses Mutai.

According to Bungei, the OCS should always be made aware of such plans for every protest on Monday and Thursday.

The statement by Bungei comes at a time the Raila Odinga-led outfit is readying itself for another protest which is slated for tomorrow, Thursday.

On Tuesday, the former Prime Minister declared that they will be holding mass action demonstrations twice a week. This is a departure from an earlier communication where they only declared Monday as the day for the demos.

Amid the statement by the Nairobi police boss, security officers are on high alert especially after the opposition brigade stormed the capital city on Monday, bringing business to a standstill.

But with this announcement by the police, it remains to be seen if Raila and his brigade will go that route.
