A tragic incident unfolded in Kariobangi, Nairobi, when a hotel manager was fatally stabbed by a customer in a dispute over an unpaid meal. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, leaving residents shocked and saddened by the senseless act of violence.

According to eyewitnesses, the customer entered the small eatery and ordered food. After finishing the meal, the man reportedly refused to pay the bill, prompting the manager to confront him. What began as a heated exchange soon escalated into a physical altercation. Witnesses said the customer pulled out a knife and stabbed the manager multiple times before fleeing the scene.

The manager, identified as a 35-year-old father of two, was rushed to a nearby health facility by Good Samaritans. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment. His family and colleagues have been left devastated, describing him as a hardworking and kind-hearted individual who was dedicated to providing for his loved ones.

The suspect is said to have fled immediately after the attack. Police officers from the Kariobangi Police Station have since launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspect. They have also called on members of the public to provide any information that might assist in locating the perpetrator.

The incident has sparked outrage among residents and the business community in the area, who are calling for better security measures to ensure the safety of those operating small businesses. “We work hard every day to make a living, and it is disheartening to see such a tragedy happen to someone who was only trying to earn an honest living,” said a fellow hotel owner in the neighborhood.

Authorities have urged the public to remain calm as investigations continue. They assured residents that justice will be served and have reminded business owners to report disputes to law enforcement rather than attempting to resolve them on their own.

The tragic loss of the hotel manager serves as a painful reminder of the challenges faced by small-scale entrepreneurs and the need for peaceful conflict resolution in society.
