Kamene Goro has revealed she was forced to study law by her parents. The Morning Kiss host says she has always been passionate about journalism.
“I wanted to do broadcast journalism but I was told to do law. I got to second year and asked if I could do them both. So this happens .”
Jalang’o says his father would have wanted him to do a course of his choice but Jalang’o stuck to his guns.
“The last bale of parents who ‘force’ students to study for degrees they want imeisha. Most of these parents feel they have to push their kids to do what they want.
They feel that if they do not do that they will be raising losers. We will be great parents as we have seen how things are and we will try to understand.
I wish parents would ask their kids what they want to be and help them achieve that. Some of these parents do not understand these things.
Personally, I did what I wanted to do, community development. Everybody thought I should do journalism but I got into it by chance.
Giving back and working with the community is something I can do everyday. You did law and here you are.”
