In October 2021, social media was ablaze after a man named Baba Gloria sent explicit content to a funeral Whatsapp group.
Baba Gloria, whose real name is Leonard Githinji has now spoken about the unrest he had after the Whatsapp gaffe.
In an interview on his YouTube, Baba Gloria details how some close people ceased associating with him after the saga.
“I was abandoned by people close to me. My friends abandoned me. Only a few told me the storm has calmed,” he said.
The father of two says he was following up on the group chats, then returned his phone to the pocket without locking the screen. So the messages ended up being sent to the the group subconsciously. It was a crazy pocket dial situation.
“The admin called me, telling me to delete the message faster. Unfortunately, someone had taken a screenshot of the chats,” Baba Gloria shared.
The screenshot that went viral left Baba Gloria restless since many people were reaching out to him through his leaked number.
“My phone was ringing uncontrollably, with people wanting to know Baba Gloria…some were sending me money. I had almost 20,000 messages on my Whatsapp.”
