Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga has publicly declared his support for DCP Party leader Rigathi Gachagua, revealing that past disagreements have been set aside.

Speaking in Kikuyu dielect, Njenga said the team protecting Gachagua is actually his group and that he directed them to ensure the leader’s safety.

He urged for unity in the Mt Kenya region, vowing that nothing will divide them ahead of the 2027 elections.

Njenga returned to the public eye following the death of his father, Stephen Kamunya Njoroge, whose burial is set for December 31.

On the occasion, he warned anyone planning to sow division to stay away and appealed for cohesion both within Mt Kenya and across the country.

He especially called on young people to attend the burial and reject attempts to create division.

Njenga added that regional leaders are already holding consultations on the way forward, emphasizing that the discussions aim to foster unity, not rivalry.
