Desiigner, a United States musician has been charged with indecent exposure at a Minneapolis court for allegedly masturbating on a flight.
The rapper whose real name is Sidney Royel Selby III is said to have engaged in the act while on a Delta flight from Tokyo, Japan to Minneapolis, USA on Monday, April 17.
According to a complaint filed by the airline company, Desiigner was first spotted touching genital organs about an hour since takeoff while seated in the first class compartment.
He was caught in the act by two flight attendants who told him to stop and he did. The lead flight attendant intervened and warned him of arrest should he continue with the behaviour.
The 25-year-old artist was spotted two more times and ordered to the back of the aircraft where a pair of passengers offered to monitor him.
He reportedly dropped a can of Vaseline body lotion while switching seats. At that point, he informed his bodyguard that he had “messed up” and was “sorry”.
The Federal Bureau of Investigations questioned him over the indecent conduct, where he said “he didn’t get much cootie on his trip to Japan, and was brick hard after he found himself attracted to one of the flight attendants.
According to the bureau, Desiigner did not appear to be under the influence of drugs at the time.
Upon arrival, he allegedly apologised to the flight crew over his conduct.
On Thursday, April 20, he took to social media to speak of the incident, claiming he “was ashamed” and would be seeking mental health therapy.
“Mental health is real guys,” he added.
The rapper is now facing a $500 (KSh67,750) fine or three months in prison.
