Lawyer Paul Muite, who previously led the defense team for Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua during his impeachment case, has raised concerns about alleged mineral exploitation in Ngong. Muite questioned what minerals the Chinese have discovered in the hills near the military base in Ngong. He pointed out that lorries are frequently transporting what is described as âsoilâ from the area toward Nairobi.
According to Muite, the continuous movement of this âsoilâ raises suspicion, and he firmly believes that valuable minerals might be disappearing from Kenya with the involvement of the Chinese. He challenged those in charge of mining to come clean about what exactly is being extracted from the hills.
Muite urged the government and relevant authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly to ensure Kenyaâs natural resources are protected. His remarks reflect growing public concerns about foreign companies’ role in the countryâs mining sector. Muite emphasized the need for transparency and accountability to prevent the exploitation of Kenyaâs minerals without benefiting its people.
