A section of Mt Kena residents staying in Nakuru have urged President William Ruto and former DP Rigathi Gachagua to set their differences aside and have a dialogue.
Addressing the press on Tuesday in Nakuru, the residents urged the two to come together for the sake of the country. The residents said this will enable Ruto work for the country and even bring cohesiveness that will create favourable employment opportunities for the Kenyan youths.
“We want peace so that the government can work so that our youths can get employment and prosperity. When roads and houses are being built, then there is employment but if there is disrespect among leaders, that will not happen,” stated one resident
At the same time, the residents challenged President William Ruto, saying Rigathi Gachagua should be accorded enough respect as the former Deputy President.
The residents said Gachagua, just like any other former Deputy President should be respected. They also went ahead to challenge Gachagua to go back to William Ruto and have a dialogue for the sake o the country.
They warned that they will not allow people who have questionable and criminal characters in Mt Kenya to think that they will bring the region together, saying only Ruto and Gachagua will bring the solution to the mountain.
“Even if Gachagua was impeached, he should be given his respect as the former DP. We don’t want to be brought gangs in Mt Kenya for us to unite. We cannot use people who have questionable records in Kenya to bring Mt Kenya people together. Mt Kenya people do not have any problem with anybody. Gachagua should be respected like former DPs. We are asking him (Gachagua) to revive his good relationship with our President William Ruto because we have seen those who have been fighting him (Ruto) coming together and shaking hands. We urge you Gachagua to go to William Ruto, unite and take us forward,” added another resident.
