KTN News on December 31 during its 1 pm news bulletins reported that it is evident that the Mt Kenya Residents have decided to avoid any groupings or rallies that could trigger political instability in the region as earlier advised by Deputy President Hon Riggy G.
This follows the emergence of reports that only a handful of locals could be seen on their normal operations in Kaburuini showgrounds where Former Mungiki Leader Hon Maina Njenga had vowed to hold a mega Rally that would be attended by former president Uhuru Kenyatta.According to KTN News’ Evans Muthoka, it is undoubtedly that Nyeri locals boycotted Maina Njenga’s hyped Rally because none of his (Njenga) alleged supporters was seen on the Showgrounds.
But the Development comes amidst the backdrop of reports that Police Officers drawn from GSU had ring-fenced the Showgrounds to prevent any Political meeting from Taking Place.
