The National Assembly Committee on Appointment kicked off the approval hearings on Thursday, August 1. The event will be conducted at county Hall, Mini- Chamber starting until Sunday, August 4.

The first on the Hot Seat is Interior Cabinet Secretary Nominee, Prof. Kithure Kindiki. Prof. Kindiki will be facing the vetting panel for the second time in two years for the same docket.

The National Assembly’s Appointments Committee is Chaired by Speaker, the Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula will preside over the four-day marathon exercise.

Others to be vetted on Thursday are Dr. Debra Mlongo of Health, Alice Wahome of Lands, Public Works and Housing, Julius Migosi of Education and Roselinda Tuya of Defence.

The new nominations were necessitated by President William Ruto’s decision to dismiss his entire cabinet due to public pressure which sparked protests across more than 35 counties.

However, in the new nominations, 10 of the dismissed CSs were reinstated.
