The number of students affected as well as the next course of action which may include whether or not to recall the certificates will be announced by the committee in the next two months.

The Education Committee’s chairman, who is known as Julius Melly, said that the stakeholders had confessed that there was widespread cheating.

Most of the cheating in the examinations is alleged to have emanated from the Nyanza region, where a number of students are said to have scored straight As.
