Mwingi West MP Mwengi Mutuse is expected to file an impeachment motion against DP Rigathi Gachagua on the grounds of breach of the law and gross misconduct on Tuesday afternoon.
The notice of special motion was filed before the Speaker on Thursday, September 26.
The motion, said to have been supported by over 250 MPs has elicited tension and heated debates across the political circles.
Among some of the allegations in the motion is that the DP has inexplicably amassed a humongous property portfolio estimated at Ksh 5.3 billion, primarily from suspected proceeds of corruption and money laundering.
He is said to have amassed this wealth using his wife, two sons and other family members.
The motion lists 22 companies which it claims were used by the DP and his family to massively launder money, conceal proceeds of crime, corruption, and benefit from influence peddling.
