Popular Kenyan gospel musician Muigai Wa Njoroge has found himself at the center of controversy after a woman accused him of failing to help her child, despite an alleged promise to do so.

The woman, identified as Lenny Leila commented on Njoroge’s Facebook post, claiming that he had initially expressed his willingness to assist her child. However, when she contacted him later, he refused to answer her calls.

In response, Njoroge replied the comment to clarify his stance. He stated that he had indeed told Wairimu to bring the child to him, making it clear that he had not instructed her to call him beforehand.

“I made it clear to her that she should bring the child to me,” Njoroge wrote. “I did not tell her to call me.”

He proceeded to direct her to JCM Church’s lord’s store, where he said he would pick up the child. This comment sparked mixed reactions among his followers.

The controversy took a further twist when comedian Kiengei the founder of JCM Church, weighed in on the matter. In a Facebook post, Kiengei announced that he had agreed with Njoroge’s suggestion stating that all children in need should be brought to JCM Lord’s store.

“I have also agreed that all children should be brought to JCM Lord’s store,” Kiengei wrote.

This development has raised concerns about the potential association between JCM Church and Njoroge’s involvement in helping children. Some have questioned whether the church is being used as a platform to bolster Njoroge’s image or if there are underlying motives behind his decision to direct people to JCM.

The incident serves as a reminder of the delicate nature of public figures’ interactions with those in need. While it is commendable to offer assistance, it is equally important to ensure that the process is transparent and does not involve any potential favoritism or exploitation.
