Homabay Town Member of Parliament George Kaluma has stirred the murky waters of Kenyan politics with his post where he seems to regret the political choices made by people from his community without any significant gains in return.

According to the legislator, they sacrificed the presidency for the country’s first-ever Head of State Jomo Kenyatta in 1963 and repeated the same mistake by making Mwai Kibaki the President in 2002.

He alleges that in 2007 when Kibaki was seeking his second term in office, he was equally beaten but his community still sacrificed the presidency despite winning the seat.

The vocal legislator regrets that those political sacrifices have proven to be in vain since his community has reaped nothing in return but an increase in oaths and entitlement against his community from the people in the Mount Kenya region.

“We sacrificed the presidency for Jomo Kenyatta in 1963. We made Kibaki President in 2002, from a wheelchair; and sacrificed the Presidency for him in 2007 after we beat him in the elections. We got nothing but oaths against our people and increased entitlement from Mount Kenya.” Kaluma posted.
