Nairobi residents woke up to shocking news on Sunday after the body of a young protest leader, identified as a key figure in recent anti-government demonstrations, was found dumped on a roadside. The victim, believed to be in his early 20s, had been abducted in broad daylight just days before his body was discovered.
Witnesses report that the young man, whose name has not been disclosed, was seized by unknown individuals in an unmarked vehicle during a busy afternoon in the city. The abduction caused panic among bystanders, but no one dared to intervene.
The body was found in the early hours of Sunday on the outskirts of Nairobi, bearing signs of torture. A passerby spotted the remains and alerted the authorities. Police cordoned off the scene and began investigations.
The young man was said to be among the vocal leaders of the Maandamano movement, which has gained momentum in recent months as young people demand better living conditions, employment opportunities, and government accountability.
