A moment of silence has been witnessed at a service in Kisumu County after a top leader from ODM party has launched an attack on church leaders.

Everything has started with minority leader honorable Opiyo Wandayi who has taken on leaders of the religious community over the comments that they made barely a day ago on their bipartisan talks as well as previous demonstrations.

A seemingly agitated Wandayi has told off these leaders after claiming that they were holding talks on the backdrop of people who died during the recent Azimio protests.

Wandayi has also attacked the church leaders arguing that they only quoted and spoke about thrity five people who died during demonstrations yet he believes they are more than that number.

In addition, he has warned all church leaders and their association against issuing statements at this particular moment.

“You know the religious community and especially the church cannot be issuing statements when the country is going under and yet in most those statements just catch at the surface. Why do I say so? If you look at the first paragraph of that statement which was issued yesterday on dialogue, religious community are saying that we remind the two teams in the dialogue that their talks are being held in the backdrop of the deaths of more than thirty five Kenyans in the demonstrations that happened in March, May and July this year. Let me say this, the church cannot just talk about thirty five deaths,” said honorable Opiyo Wandayi.
