Kenyan media personality Stella Katiwa alias Miss Katiwa has recently disclosed to her fans that she has been struggling to find a new job.

The renowned Reggae queen opened up about this in a recent post on her Instagram account, where she even admitted the reason why this has been so for the past months.

According to Miss Katiwa she has been deliberately denied opportunities to work in the mainstream media, by different media houses in the country.

Even though she never mentioned the specific media houses that did that, she revealed that this forced her to slightly change her career so as to be able to put food on the table.

For those who may not know, Miss Katiwa is now a content creator and she has even posted several videos on her YouTube channel in the past few weeks.

Speaking of her transition, Miss Katiwa further revealed that it has not been an easy thing for her to do.

The change infact forced her to spend more of the money that she had saved, and was even forced to borrow more from possibly her friends and family members.

“This to you might seem like easy work because I only get to post for you the glamorous side only…This year I told my God that I’m not gonna use my cent 🤑.

There were sleepless nights,,,with my wonderful team @awilo @mandechu and @izo who I can’t even thank them enough 😢, I adore each and everyone of you for the role y’all have played ❤️

Am also learning to edit sh*t for myself because it’s expensive to,,,but with time I will manage with God’s grace…” Miss Katiwa said in part.

She added:

“All I wanna say is…IT IS NOT ESSSSSYYYYY SON/GAL…IT HAS taken 2 yrs of harrrrrdddd work and not being given chances on mainstream media.

That doesn’t mean you should stop,, No!! that means finding an alternative and other options that can work cz we can never always get what we want,, but we can customize what we have in our hands…”.

My bosses want to sleep with me to give me a job – Miss Katiwa
Miss Katiwa’s move to disclose the big transition however comes just months after she revealed that some media bosses wanted to sleep with her so as to give her a job.

This was as the Reggae queen was reacting to a story where BBC had exposed how a man had been taking advantage of job seekers, who wanted to work at a tea plantation in Kericho County, Kenya.

According to the story the man always demanded for sex before deciding to employ the job seekers.

Reacting to the story Miss Katiwa was infuriated first because it was wrong and secondly because it was also happening to her.

“Am currently not working because a big part of this is still happening to me wtf!!! Why do I have to open my legs to get a job? Where does it say in the Bible?

But I choose to suffer in silence and I choose my dignity over that. Being a woman in this country (world) is a marathon. Whyy though, why make me suffer or why do I have to beg for a job that I perfectly deserve?” Miss Katiwa wrote.

She added:

“This is the story of my life, have lost a lot of jobs, deals and endorsements because of sexual exploitation. This has really toughened me to the extent whereby my confidence has been seen as disrespect”.

Miss Katiwa’s last job on TV was actually a Reggae show dubbed ‘Jamdown’, that she used to host on NTV on Saturday nights. She actually left the station in January 2022 after working there for sometime.

The sassy queen also used to be radio presenter and she hosted a Reggae show on Homeboyz Radio before she secretly called it quits.
