MP Millie Odhiambo has given Kenyans a sneak peek into the late General Francis Ogolla’s living room during her visit to condole with the family.She was accompanied by her party leader Raila Odinga and her colleagues, while taking online she captioned, One day the transformative will align and our tears will be forgotten.Azimio coalition leader Raila Odinga has expressed his heartfelt condolences to General Francis Ogolla who perished in a chopper crash in Elgeyo Marakwet.In a statement, Odinga expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the fallen general.He further showered Ogolla with praises referring to him as a true patriot and a professional who served Kenya with undying dedication.
He also offered his condolences to the families of the Kenya Defence Forces officers who passed away with General Ogolla.
While confirming their demise, the head of state paid a moving tribute to the fallen heroes.
Ogolla’s elder sister Perez Onyango, who confirmed the burial plans, said her brother told her that he should be buried between 48 and 72 hours.
“He knew that I am problematic and therefore warned me against complicating his burial. As a family, we respect that wish,” said the sister.
While commemorating his life, Ogolla’s family termed him as a diligent person who was revered by his peers. They also reflected on his sheer hard work and benevolent nature.
Reports indicated that Ogolla’s father was left with many questions regarding his son’s demise.
Despite the well-outlined protocols on the burials of military and servicemen, the president has the prerogative to choose how to treat this burial, with Ogolla being the first ever Chief of Defence Forces to die in office.
