Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko was happy to meet with president William Ruto during his visit to Bungoma county. The two leaders met during the event organised at the Bungoma State Lodge.

Mike Sonko travelled to Bungoma county to attend the Madaraka day celebrations. Several leaders were present during the event including president William Ruto and deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

President William Ruto hosted several leaders at the Bungoma State Lodge after celebrations at Masinde Muliro stadium. Many leaders from the western region were invited for the event. They enjoyed a long discussion with the head of state during the meeting.

Sonko has maintained a close relationship with president William Ruto for a long time. Mike Sonko campaigned for the president during the general elections in 2022. He has been defending the head of state from attacks by the opposition.

President William Ruto is keen on working together with all leaders in the country. He has urged all leaders to put aside their political differences to address the challenges facing Kenyans. He is keen on delivering on his mandate to the people of Kenya.

Mike Sonko is the former governor of Nairobi county. He served between 2017 and 2020. He was impeached from office on allegations of corruption and abuse of office. He has maintained a low profile since his exit from office.

The veteran politician has been providing mentorship to several young people in the country. He has motivated several people to pursue careers in different fields in the country.
