Lawyer cum politician Miguna Miguna on 18th January at night reacted to supreme court’s decision of banning senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi from appearing before it.
Speaking via his official twitter handle, Miguna demanded a full ruling from the supreme court before issuing a statement.
“Can someone post the genuine full ruling by the Supreme Court before I comment? Thanks.”, He wrote.
His statement comes off in line with Supreme court’s decision of baring the vocal senior counsel from the JSC following his continuous attacks on the judges and Chief justice Martha Koome.
However reacting to his statement, kenyans expressed their views via their official twitter handles as follows;
Dida: SC AA is a man of many firsts, a news-maker, a ground-shaker, a pacesetter. Whether this would stand or not, he’s added another feather to his cap. Becoming the 1st lawyer in Kenya to be barred from the Supreme Court is neither a mean feat nor an achievement for the faint hearted.
Republican: They must know something that we don’t. They’re just fighting corruption as you had asked. They probably have a lot of evidence against you. Let’s open all the cases you’ve won.
Gobe: Iam loving this,you cooked yourself the moment you intentionally attacked an independent body giving you security and work at the same time,now enjoy your pride sir.
Kennedy: The Advocates Act gives the High Court & all courts exercising jurisdiction as High Court to suo moto or an application the power to discipline, ban or have a lawyer struck off the Roll of Advocates. This is residual power that always existed but Judges have been shy to exercise.
Jeff: Very unfair judgement. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Constructive criticism is healthy for our nation. This makes me support a judiciary overhaul. How many poor people have suffered injustices in these courts because we can’t access a judge? All Supreme Court judges must resign!
