Miguna And Ann Wamuratha’s Message After Jowie Sentence To Death While Maribe Gets Govt Job
Joseph Irungu, known as Jowie, was sentenced to death on March 13, 2024 for murdering businesswoman Monica Kimani in 2018.
Shortly after he sentence by the high Court judge Nzioka .Jowie expressed sadness over the tragic loss of life under extreme circumstances that he said were an act of madness beyond his understanding, despite being convicted.
His family maintained his innocence, empathized with Monica’s family, and requested leniency.
However, the investigating officer portrayed Jowie as violent based on an altercation while out on bond, and recommended the maximum sentence. After considering the arguments, Justice Nzioka sentenced Jowie to death.
This sentence has sparked debate with Miguna standing against the ruling . He says a hman being, include a judge , shouldn’t have the power to order the killings of anyone . This violates the constitution , which banned the death penalty .
Also Kiambu woman rep Ann Wamuratha who is known to stand with the boy child has reacted showing sympathy with Jowie, who has been alone in this . This has come days after Jackie Maribe landed a lucrative government job in CS Moses Kuria’s ministry .
