He won the KSh 6 million Mega Jackpot Bonus prize in 2019—his first success. Mwenda was fortunate enough to win an extra KSh 4 million this year, a windfall that has given them recognition and a voice in the community.

When he and his wife Charity attend gatherings these days, they are usually referred to as “the newest millionaires in town”.

Mwenda won the SportPesa Mega Jackpot Bonus for KSh 6 million the first time around in 2019. Four years later, she won KSh 4 million again.

The fortunate man revealed in his interview with SportPesa Care that, prior to receiving the windfall, he had difficulty making ends meet and was perpetually overdue on his rent.

This explains why, after his first victory, he used the money to lift his family out of poverty and to improve himself.

In addition to building a new home for his family and purchasing a Toyota Probox for himself, he also purchased a plot of land.

Mwenda purchased a truck for his company and a second family vehicle with the money he gained this year when he won the following round of prizes.

“The truck came from God, so I named it Blessing. I used to utilize rented trucks to transport produce from fields to the market, but these days I use it,” he said.

Charity, Mwenda’s wife, disclosed that their current possessions are entirely due to the jackpots, as they were once extremely impoverished.

“The only thing we had to our names was life itself, otherwise everything else you see here, including chicken, is from that money,” she continued. Charity, beaming, said that she had not been able to speak during family get-togethers in the past but that had changed.

“These days the moment we step into events the MC announces that ‘Charity wa Mwenda, the newest millionaire in town has arrived,” she laughed.
