Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have revealed they are having a baby girl. The couple also shared the news that their second child is due in the summer. They made the announcement in their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The interview queen asked Meghan the question earlier in their chat, but the Duchess of Sussex said she wanted for Harry to join her to announce it. The couple shared their exciting pregnancy news last month with a beautiful black and white photo.
Oprah first contacted Meghan about the potential interview in early in 2018, before she married Harry. However, the Duchess had to turn the request down, saying it wasn’t the right time.
Recalling their conversation in the interview, Meghan says they had to have someone from the Palace’s communication team with them for the decision.

When Oprah asks why they’ve agreed to the chat now, the former royal replies: “Well, so many things that we’re on the other side of a lot of… a lot of life experience that has happened.

“And also that we have the ability to make our own choices in a way that I couldn’t have said ‘yes’ to you then. That wasn’t my choice to make.
“So, as an adult who lived a really independent life to then go into this construct that is… different than I think what people imagine it to be, it’s really liberating to be able to have the right and the privilege in some ways to be able to say ‘yes’.”
Oprah asks her: “To say it for yourself?” to which Meghan replies: “I’m ready to talk. To say it for yourself.”

The chat show host then pointedly says: “And not to have to consult with anybody at this point. Yes?”
Meghan says: “Yeah. To be able to just make a choice on your own. And to be able to speak for yourself.”
The interview was recorded a few weeks ago at Meghan and Harry’s friend’s house, believed to be near their new mansion.
It took place before the Queen announced Megxit would be permanent and took away the couple’s royal patronages. There are reports the programme had to be re-edited following the decision, which insiders say has upset the couple.
