She came. She conquered. And finally, she has left, leaving an indelible mark.

After over three decades in uniform, former director of personnel at police headquarters, Jacinta Muthoni Kinyua, has left the stage.

Jacinta Muthoni recently retired from the police service after a remarkable journey in uniform.

Until her retirement, she served as the director of the National Focal Point on Small Arms and Light Weapons.

Her position at the National Focal Point on Small Arms and Light Weapons has since been taken by former Nairobi regional police commander Adamson Bungei.

Muthoni had previously held several senior positions in the service, including that of traffic police commander. She became the first woman to hold the position.

At one point, she served as the Murang’a District OCPD and was very instrumental in dismantling Mungiki militia in the region.

At the time of her retirement, Muthoni was in the rank of Senior Assistant Inspector General of Police.
