Hajiya Dada is the mother of some of Nigeria’s most influential and beloved leaders, making her one of the world’s most fortunate and revered mothers. Along with raising a former vice president, governor, minister, and first lady of Nigeria, Dada was also wed to the late Alhaji Musa Yaradua, a former minister of Lagos Affairs for Nigeria.

Nigeria was ruled by the late Umaru Musa Yaradua, the Hajiya’s eldest son, for two years. He was praised for his remarkable leadership throughout the country, and he is now regarded as one of Nigeria’s best presidents. Additionally, from 1979 to 1981, when they helped lead Nigeria into democracy, General Shehu Musa, who was born to Dada, served as Obasanjo’s vice president.

With the help of the CPC and APC parties, his son Colonel Abdul’aziz Yaradua successfully ran for and was elected to two terms as governor of Katsina in 2011 and 2015, respectively. As first ladies of the states of Katsina, Kebbi, and Bauchi, respectively, Maryam, Zainab, and Nafisa were three of her granddaughters. The Nigerian minister of state for defence at the time was Murtala Shehu Yaradua, her grandson.
