A Nakuru woman has tearfully begged for financial help to offset her overwhelming debts.Noel Akivembe, who was scammed KSh 2.8 million by a potential husband she never met, said she was on the verge of depression.

Her desire to be married because of her age blinded her to the conning incident by her female friend.

Speaking to a source, Akivembe recalled how she borrowed money from friends and family to send to her suitor through her friend.

“I occasionally have the ability to send KSh 10,000, KSh 20,000, or KSh 50,000. I borrowed nearly KSh 300,000 from my brother and used his friend’s money as collateral, receiving a total of nearly KSh 600,000.

In addition, I owed money to my friends from when my husband arrived in Kenya. The funds covered his travel expenses, medical bills, and living expenses while he was overseas,” she stated.

When her prospective suitor stopped talking to her and the friend who served as the trustee vanished for more than a year, the mother of three found herself in danger.

When she was apprehended, people started requesting their money, which had become excessive.

“It pains me to injure my pals. Seeing my pals who I used to joke around with upsets me now that I no longer do.

I could visit my friends’ homes, where we would cook and eat. I’m no longer able to do it. It has made myself and my pals quite hostile.

Anyone who can help me, even if it’s just to put it on record, please help me. My back is against the wall, and everyone is demanding their money, therefore I’m sliding into melancholy,” she sobbed.
