Issa Abdurrahman Kenyan politician Issa Timamy, He was formerly the director of the National Museums of Kenya and has a background in law. His candidature for the United Democratic Forum (UDF) was approved.

Timamy ran for governor of Lamu County in Kenya’s 2013 general election, defeating deputy governor Erick Kinyua Mugo in the process. He was chosen using the UDF party platform.

Born in 1959 in Lamu, where he also spent his childhood. Prior to enrolling in Allidina Visram High School in Mombasa, he attended Sacred Heart and Lamu primary schools.

Timamy spent a long time serving as a director and company secretary for the Sameer Group of Companies in Nairobi. He became the National Museums of Kenya’s chairman of the board of directors in 2005, and he left the position in 2012 to pursue a career in politics.

In order to promote development and service delivery for all Lamu residents, the re-elected governor promised to work with other elected officials.

Timamy was one of Mudavadi’s five deputy party leaders at the ANC prior to assuming leadership of the organisation. The University of Nairobi School of Law awarded him a degree.

He is the leader of Mombasa’s Timamy and Company Advocates, a commercial law firm. The declaration was made the day after the names sent by President Ruto for screening were approved by parliament.

Governor Issa Timamy’s modesty is a refreshing contrast to the ostentatious lifestyles that are usually associated with politicians.
