Following the passing of his cherished wife, Kenyans have joined together to support the family and friends of veteran actor and comedian Matayo Keya, also known as Alphonse Makokha Makacha.

Ondiek Nyuka Kwota, a fellow cast member of Vioja Mahakamani, revealed the news of Mrs. Purity Wambui, Makokha’s wife, passing away on Sunday night.

Ondiek lamented the passing of Wambui in a Facebook post, calling her a special woman who affected many people’s lives.

“Dear friends and fans, it is with great sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Purity Wambui, the beloved wife of Makacha aka ‘Babyface’ from Vioja Mahakamani on KBC Channel 1 TV,” Ondiek wrote on his personal Facebook page.

“She was an amazing woman who touched many people’s lives with her kindness and warmth,” he continued. “During this extremely trying time, Matayo Keya, better known as Makokha Makacha, and his family are incredibly appreciative of your love and support.”

Ondiek urged followers to continue to pray for Makokha’s family and to be there for them during this difficult time.

“Please feel free to post your messages below for those who would like to offer their sympathies. We really value your prayers and thoughts. I appreciate your help and understanding,” he stated.

The late Purity Wambui is not well known to the general public since actor Alphonse Makokha seldom portrays his family in public.
