Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka has said that Fred Matiangāi will need strong partners to win the 2027 presidency. He mentioned that they will talk to leaders like Rigathi Gachagua, Uhuru Kenyatta, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Raila Odinga for support. According to Onyonka, the Gusii community believes it is their time to lead, and they will seek alliances with regional kingpins to strengthen their bid. He insisted that smaller communities also deserve a chance to lead the country.
Speaking in Kisii, Onyonka announced that the Gusii region has agreed to support Matiangāi for the presidency. He explained that the community feels left out in past governments and now wants one of their own in power. He also said that the country is not sharing resources fairly, and one way to change this is by forming their own political party.
Onyonka made it clear that they will not back down from supporting Matiangāi. He believes that with the right support, Matiangāi has a strong chance of winning the presidency in 2027.
