The current government has faced criticism from the opposition and some Kenyans because of how the leaders are conducting the country.
President Ruto promised that there will be no much borrowing in his government and common citizens will be prioritized.
Ruto’s plan to go slow on debts is a little unrealistic according to expert because he has borrowed Ksh 17.4 billion within six months in office and he is spending money traveling across the country and outside.
Political expert Herman Manyora has interpreted this in an interview that President Ruto is yet to understand how the government operates.
That if he understood how government works he would have prioritized the needs of Kenyans who are suffering and avoid borrowing because the problems that people are facing do not require him to borrow even a shilling.
Manyora then alleged that Ruto may not be borrowing money for development and to help Kenyans but to reward those who helped him win the election.
That by May last year 2022 it was clear that Ruto was going to lose the election but some people came to rescue him, signed deals and it is now time for him to return the favour which can only be done by borrowing money.
The expert advised Ruto to be careful especially now that Kenyans are aware of their suffering and they can pinpoint what the government is doing wrong.
