Political analyst Professor Herman Manyora has put forth an intriguing perspective regarding President Ruto’s lack of understanding of the government and the circumstances surrounding the current state of affairs by linking it with how if affected Raila and Kalonzo in 2013.
Manyora has alleged that the failure of the Raila-Kalonzo coalition, also known as CORD, to form the government in the 2013 general elections can be attributed to their lack of comprehension about the inner workings of the government machinery.
In support of his claim, Manyora points to the fact that Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka held significant positions in the government of President Mwai Kibaki. Raila served as the Vice President, while Kalonzo held the role of Prime Minister. Despite their prominent positions, Manyora argues that they had limited understanding of the intricate dynamics and operational mechanisms within the government system. Consequently, they were unable to effectively navigate the political landscape and were ultimately defeated by individuals who held lesser positions of power.
According to Manyora, the defeat of the Raila-Kalonzo coalition in the 2013 elections came as a surprise to many people who believed it was their opportune moment to form a government. However, he suggests that their lack of awareness and comprehension of the system ultimately hindered their ability to capitalize on the favorable political climate. While Raila and Kalonzo may have enjoyed influential positions in President Kibaki’s government, their lack of deep-rooted understanding regarding the functioning of the government apparatus proved to be a significant drawback.
The reason why Raila did not become Raila in 2013, top on the list, is because he was not part of. and did not understand the government, ” he claimed.
Conclusively, Professor Herman Manyora argues that the failure of the Raila-Kalonzo coalition to form the government in the 2013 general elections can be attributed to their limited understanding of the government and its operational dynamics.
