The proprietor of Kitengela’s Quiver Lounge has verified that a manager who was accused of intimidating female employees sexually and threatening to terminate them has been placed on leave.

Speaking on a video clip that Senator Gloria Orwoba, the nominee, posted on Thursday afternoon, the owner disclosed that inquiries had been made regarding the manager’s behavior.

He added that contracts with employees who had been wrongfully fired by the manager were currently being restored by the establishment.

“We find this to be a troubling occurrence. We are currently looking into that matter. The owner clarified, “As it stands, the aforementioned manager has been suspended pending investigations.

“We have also invited the law enforcement authorities to ensure that should there be any such incidents, then the perpetrators have been brought to book.”

We distance ourselves from any such behavior, and we’ve identified a couple of our employees who were let go recently. We’ve phoned them back. As the investigations continue, we will restore individuals who were wrongly terminated,” he continued.

The senator, who was featured in the video, stated that she assumed control of the situation when the controversy became viral on social media.

The MP went on to say that she had received evidence of the harassment from some of the victims, which she had passed along to the police looking into the matter.

“I took over the matter and met the owner of the establishment,” she said. “The manager has been suspended; these are the two things we agreed upon and they have already done.

“I will be giving the investigating authorities a lot of evidence that some of the victims have sent me,” she said, adding that she supported staff members who wanted to be hired again.

A former Quiver Lounge waitress revealed her story in one of the videos that went viral on Wednesday, stating that most nightclub bosses made their female employees either sleep with them or get fired.
